We'll always have Scooby and the gang

We do live in the darkest timeline. The environment is in the midst of a collapse and no one in power is willing to do anything about it. A few families have, through luck and sociopathy, consolidated the bulk of the world’s wealth in their own hands. The United States has a healthcare system run by greedy corporations intent on bleeding us all to death slowly for profit.  Theocrats are seizing control of several states.  Justin Bieber continues to be famous somehow.   The refrain across the internet is LOL NOTHING MATTERS shouted in a high pitched voice that is either a cackle or a scream. In times like this we cast about looking for comfort.  Small comforts can go along way to sustaining sanity.

For me, there is nothing more comforting than watching a few old episodes of Scooby-Doo.

Normally at this point I would give the obligatory spoiler warning then jump into a brief synopsis of the show before moving on the primary points that I want to make. However, I am attempting to picture the person who could possibly be interested in this website but has never seen Scooby-Doo in any of its incarnations. I feel confident that such a creature does not exist (or, if it does seem to exist it is really just a greedy capitalist in a bizarre disguise attempting to frighten away tourists).

The beauty of the bulk of Scooby-Doo is the simplicity of the whole thing. Some goofy teens and a talking dog run around in a banging van and solve mysteries.

It's a pro-logic show. There's never a real monster in the Dracula,  Mummy, ghost sense that most people mean when they say the word monster.  There's nothing supernatural to fear. In reality it's a capitalist trying to horde more money.

If Scooby and the gang were working in real life,  Trump and Bloomberg would be under the masks.
