The plague hits Hollywood

The current Covid-19 pandemic is causing a lot of cancellations.  Sports are canceled.  Like all of them. Broadway is shuttered.  The music festivals have all been postponed or outright canceled.  New movies are being pulled from the release schedule.  The film festivals are being put off. Now we get word that the studios and shutting down production as well.

Gizmodo  is reporting that Disney, Warner Brothers and Netflix have all paused production on ongoing projects.

Here's the statement from Warner Brothers:

"With the rapidly changing events related to COVID-19, and out of an abundance of caution, Warner Bros. Television Group is halting production on some of our 70+ series and pilots currently filming or about to begin,” the statement reads. “The health and safety of our employees, casts and crews remains our top priority. During this time, we will continue to follow the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control as well as local officials and public health professionals in each city where our productions are based"

Here's hoping that this all passes soon and that the world can get back to normal.
