No one lives forever but Kirk Douglas sure gave it a shot

No one lives forever but it seems like Kirk Douglas sure gave it a shot. He died today at the age of 103.

Douglas was the last surviving star of the old Hollywood studio system.  He was an extremely physical and handsome actor known for his athleticism.

Modern audiences likely know Douglas best as Spartacus,  and rightly so. Kubrick's film would define the rest of his career.

The scene where Douglas is pitted against Woody Strode in what is meant to be a fight to the death is stirring,  exciting and very believable.

Other major films Douglas starred in include Paths of Glory,  Lust for Life, and The Champion.

He is survived by his son, the actor Michael Douglas.
